NEDEA Networking Event with panel discussion on AI

NEDEA Chicago hosted a thought-provoking panel discussion on February 15th, Sunday to discuss the rapidly evolving role of Artificial Intelligence (AI) in engineering, technology, and professional development. The event brought together leaders from academia, industry, and consulting to examine how AI is reshaping organizational workflows, redefining technical roles, and creating new opportunities for engineers and young professionals trying to make their mark in an increasingly technology-driven world. Moderated by Dr. Tariq Shamin, the session opened with a reminder that while AI is making headlines, the real change its bringing is most commonly observed inside organizations where engineers and professionals are integrating AI tools into everyday workflows. The panel also featured Mr. Mudassir Siddiqi, who is currently serving as the president of the College of DuPage; Mr. Mahmood Akhtar, a senior electrical engineer with decades of experience in design and construction; Mr. Adnan Hassan from Google; and Mr. Asif Hussain Aan, a consultant specializ ing in AI-driven enterprise solutions. The diverse backgrounds of the panelists range from academia to large technology firms and consulting and it provided the attendees with a comprehensive view from all walks of life of the practical impact of AI across multiple sectors.
